#01 Stop! Hammer time!

Every idea is an unlimited source of potential, if we want it to be. It has the power to connect us to the moment, our partner and audience, not to mention effortlessly bring any story forward.

Too often we miss out on this potential. We're too busy looking for different, better, more interesting ideas, or perhaps we just don't think our idea is good enough.

Stop! Hammer time!

This workshop will stop us from moving forward and hammer away at what we got. By stop, I mean look! And by hammer I mean play!

Because it's improv and because we'll be doing group and pair exercises together, the workshop is designed to provide practical experience with useful tools in a playful way. Then we'll wrap up with a few scenes to demonstrate the tools and process of Stop! Hammer time!

This workshop will:

  • help bring out the potential and trust in your ideas and those of your improv partners!

  • allow you to have fun with your ideas for as long as you want!

  • let you discard ideas that no longer inspire!

  • change your view on creativity and team work forever!

#02 Own your shit

One thing separating veteran improvisers from novices is a certain sense of confidence on stage. They’re more relaxed because they know that their idea is already good enough. Beginners may already be looking for the next idea, because they’ve deemed the one they have “not interesting enough”. It’s time to own your shit!

This workshop will:

  • improve your stage confidence.

  • provide tools and experience to re-commit to your idea.

  • make you a more confident improviser and supportive improv partner.

  • let you have fun with your ideas instead of discarding them.

#03 Cool Characters Made Easy

Improv gives us the freedom to be anyone we’ve ever and never wanted to be, to quote the amazing Susan Messing.

Cool characters are fun to play and can make life on stage a little bit easier.

CCME will not only provide easy to use tools to build unique characters on the fly, it will also let you help others build theirs.

A good character can be recycled forever. Let this workshop help you find a few

#04 Instant Initiations

Judging your own ideas? Politely waiting for your partner to make the first move? Does your scenes take 30 seconds to start?

Initiations and agreeing from the top can be hard, but it will take you to where the fun is much faster!

Instant Initiations will prove that your first impulse, you first idea, whatever it is, is always right. Always! You'll also learn to worry less about the who, what where, you might not need it at all.

#05 Advancing the Scene

Scenes and scene work can sometimes feel like walking in glue, when you could be having the best time of your life instead. Improv is all about exploration, discovery and having fun, together!

Advancing the Scene will take you through various ways of effortlessly pushing a scene forward, without worrying about plot, narrative, relationship, environment etc.

It's all about being obvious, in agreement and having more fun, together!

#06 Enough With The fucking Questions Already!

Questions are amazing! Questions can also be a bad habit when they force your partner to do all the work on stage, making all the decisions in the scene. You’re not just giving away the chance to chose what YOU like to do, you might also be stopping the scene from moving forward.

EWTFQA! builds much needed awareness around offers vs. options and makes you more capable of taking care of yourself and your partner by making use of those wonderful questions.

#07 The Improv Toolbelt

Every time you walk on stage you’re wearing an invisible tool belt filled with most, if not all the improv tools you need. Most tools are adaptable, while some should be employed "only for their intended purpose".

The Impro Toolbelt workshop will provide more tools for your improv tool belt in the form of simple tips and tricks (‘cheats’) designed to push things forward when you feel stuck or lost in a scene.
